The Floor Signal smart badge — a wearable recorder worn by store associates.

In-store conversation intelligence

Retail's shop floor is its biggest blind spot. We're fixing it.

Floor Signal turns everyday store conversations into clear, measurable insight — so you can see how your brand is truly experienced by every customer, in every store.

Giving retail brands the data to understand, and improve, what actually happens on the floor.

How it works

Four steps from a
hello to a decision.

A wearable badge, a provider-agnostic transcription pipeline, an LLM analysis layer and a dashboard your teams actually use. Nothing to install in store. No cameras, no counters, no guesswork.

01 — Collect

A badge your associates forget they're wearing.

Store associates wear a lightweight smart badge. It captures the entire interaction between the associate and customer.

Charge it overnight, clip it on, press start. That's the whole rollout.

  • 10+ hr battery life
  • Omnidirectional mics
  • Worn as a pin or clip
  • Start & pause button
  • 16 GB on-badge storage
  • Speaker separation & isolation

02 — Transcribe

Messy store audio, turned into clean labelled transcript.

A provider-agnostic pipeline — Sarvam, ElevenLabs and others, chosen per language and per store — splits a shift into individual conversations and identifies who is speaking to whom.

Multilingual and code-mixed by default, because that's how Indian and global shop floors actually talk.

AssociateHi, welcome in — first time with us?
CustomerYeah, just looking at the new model really.
AssociateOf course. What are you driving at the moment?
CustomerA 2019 hatchback. Honestly the price is the thing.
AssociateUnderstood. Let me show you what the monthly works out at — and we can book you a test drive today.
CustomerAlright, that would help.

03 — Analyse

Every conversation scored against your checklist.

LLM models read each conversation and compare the customer experience against your own standards, providing structured, comparable insight.

Your checklist, your language, your definition of a good conversation. Not a generic template.

04 — Act

Insight routed to the team that can do something with it.

Dashboards and alerts land with the people who can act — not in a monthly PDF nobody opens. Each team gets the slice of the floor that belongs to them.

Weekly digests, threshold alerts, store-vs-store league tables and a searchable archive of every conversation.

Impact

The floor stops being
a matter of opinion.

Retail already measures footfall, conversion and basket. Floor Signal explains them. For the first time, the cause sits next to the number.

Conversion

Why customers buy — and why they don't

Understand what is converting customers, and what is losing them before the close.

Customer experience

Measure the real experience, for the first time

Is the customer journey you defined actually being followed on the floor?

Training

Coaching with evidence

The exact moments to coach, with real transcript examples. Individualised, not generic.

Product

Feedback in the customer's own words

What people actually say about your products on the floor — the questions, the doubts, the comparisons.

HR

Find your top performers

See who consistently runs the best conversations, so recognition and promotion follow evidence.

Inventory

Stock what the floor is asking for

Which products customers ask for, and what needs to be on the shelf in which store.

One dataset.
Three different dashboards.

Nobody needs everything. Each role sees the slice of the floor they can actually act on, in the format they already work in.

Leadership

The brand, everywhere

How the brand is experienced across every market, region and store — trends, outliers, and the reason sitting behind the number.

Retail functions

One view per team

CX, training, product, HR and inventory each get their own dashboard — only what is relevant to them, with the evidence attached.

Store managers

My store, this week

Their team, their shifts, their conversations. Who needs coaching, what went well, and what to do about it on Monday.

Industries

Built for floors where the
conversation is the sale.

The higher the consideration, the longer the conversation — and the more expensive it is when it goes wrong. We start where a single interaction can be worth thousands.

About

Started on the floor,
not in a lab.

Floor Signal exists because the person building it spent years watching the most valuable data in retail walk out of the door every evening, unrecorded.

Armaan Nath, founder of Floor Signal

“I spent six years in retail watching brands make decisions about the shop floor using everything except what was actually said on it.”

I'm Armaan Nath, founder of Floor Signal. Six years in retail with Hugo Boss, Alexander McQueen, Gucci and Mokobara — close enough to the floor to see the pattern repeat in every store I walked into.

Head office could tell you footfall, conversion, basket size and NPS. Nobody could tell you what the associate actually said when a customer asked about price. Training was built on assumptions. Coaching was built on memory. The single richest source of truth in the business, “the conversation”, was simply never captured.

So I went looking for someone who had solved it. I tried vendor after vendor: call-centre analytics stretched to fit a store, camera systems that counted bodies but heard nothing, mystery shopping that sampled two visits a quarter and called it insight. None of them could take real, noisy, multilingual shop-floor audio and turn it into something a retail team would act on. The value was obvious; nobody could extract it.

Floor Signal is the answer I couldn't buy — built from the floor up, by someone who has stood on it.
